    National Workshop on Least Terns
    Dr. Rich Fischer and Dr. Mike Guilfoyle, ERDC Environmental Laboratory, sponsored a workshop on research and monitoring for the interior population of Least Terns (ILT) 4-5 April 12 in Alton, Illinois. The workshop was held at the National Great Rivers Museum, Melvin Price Lock & Dam. Its purpose was to review the conservation status of ILT, identify knowledge gaps pertaining to long-term population persistence, and identify key research and monitoring needs. Attendees included USACE representatives from multiple Corps districts and divisions, along with representatives from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey, state natural resource agencies, and several universities.
