Calcasieu River Bar Channel - New Orleans District

Project Description: The hopper dredge Wheeler worked in the Calcasieu River bar channel - approximately between Mile -1.7 to Mile -6.1. Duration of project was 16 days. The Wheeler dredged 1,626,330 cy in the agitation mode (lots of "fluff" in the Calcasieu bar channel): about 80% agitation & 20% dredge and 566,233 cy in haul work. No trawling. REMSA providing the observers on board. In-house risk assessment concluded it was OK for the Wheeler to continue its dredging work at after take.
