Precautions

 

Take the following precautions with this compound:

  1. Strong oxidizer; keep from contact with combustible materials.

  2. Corrosive; causes eye and skin damage. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, mucous membranes.

  3. Prolonged inhalation of manganese compounds above the permissible exposure limit may cause lung irritation and central nervous system disorders.

  4. When handling, use safety goggles, rubber gloves, and respirators. Avoid breathing dust.

  5. Do not take internally; harmful if swallowed.

  6. Toxic to birds and aquatic invertebrates.
